Ready to kick off the summer grilling season with a bang? Bring your bib and be ready to take notes during this year's Bloomin' Barbeque and Bluegrass Festival. Master cooks from all over the country converge on Sevierville, TN, for two days of mouthwatering eats, music, and good old-fashioned family fun. It's a celebration of spring you won't want to miss.

Award-Winning Barbeque

If you've never sampled the delightful creations at a barbeque competition, you're in for a real treat. Savory sauces, amazingly tender ribs, and perfectly grilled sausages mean everyone in the family will find plenty to eat. Even dessert finds a home on the grills here, so you can be sure your sweet tooth will be satisfied as well.

Kids get in on the act, too, with a special competition just for 6- to 16-year-olds. Join the Kansas City Barbeque Society certified judges on Friday evening to see which team of youngsters can build the tastiest burger. Winners take home a $50 prize, and everyone receives a participant award in addition to learning some valuable grilling skills.

You'll have a chance to learn a few tricks of your own as well. Both the American Grillmaster Experience and the Great American BBQ Tour will be on hand, offering top grilling and barbeque tips to make your summer cookouts even more delicious.

Musical Legends Take the Stage

The music never stops during this two-day festival. Beginning at 5pm Friday and continuing until well after dark on Saturday, you'll have plenty of opportunity to hear a wide variety of musical performances. You'll hear rock, Christian, country, and pop bands at the Hard Rock Café Community Stage, while bluegrass fans will enjoy plenty of local talent as well. Be sure to stick around on Saturday, though, because the legendary Bluegrass Album Band takes the stage in a rare live performance.

In addition to the Bluegrass Album Band, you'll have a chance to hear talented amateurs compete in a one-of-a-kind vocal contest. The rules are simple: each singer must perform one of the songs written by Tennessee-native Dolly Parton. The Mountain Soul Vocal Competition attracts some of the finest singers around, so it's a real treat for anyone who appreciates Dolly's musical style.

Something for Everyone

When you've had your fill of delicious barbeque, be sure to head for the craft area, where you'll find a huge collection of handcrafted treasures on display. Crafters from across the country show off their skills and offer you the chance to take home a delightful souvenir as a reminder of your trip to the Great Smoky Mountains.

Whether you're a self-proclaimed grill master or simply enjoy good food, you won't want to miss this year's Bloomin' Barbeque and Bluegrass Festival. Fantastic foods, music to suit every taste, beautiful handcrafted items, and more await your family at this free two-day festival. There really is something to make everyone happy on May 17 and 18, 2013, in Sevierville, TN.
