Remember when you were a kid and the end of the school year meant playing in the yard until well after dark, chasing fireflies with your friends and enjoying the cool evening air? And you just couldn't wait until July when the fireworks show came to town?

Now that you're all grown up and have a job that doesn't let you have June and July off, enjoying those warm evenings might feel like a thing of the past. As for fireworks, well, who has time? This year, Tennessee's favorite family fun spot is giving you a chance to be a kid again with extended hours and nightly fireworks shows from June 22 through August 4, 2013.

The Fun Begins at Sunset

As soon as the sun goes down, the night sky lights up with a brilliant arrangement of colorful fireworks. Artfully set to a toe-tapping music score, this celebration of summer will have you dancing in the streets as a riotous barrage of fireworks explodes overhead, drenching the entire park in color and light.

Or grab a seat on your favorite ride and enjoy the show from atop the Ferris wheel, while taking a relaxing turn on the carousel, or from aboard the Dollywood Express. During the Nights of Many Colors, there's not a bad seat anywhere in the park.

For the thrill seekers in your group, there's an even better reason to stay out late. They'll love the opportunity to enjoy their favorite rides with the moon and the stars to light the way. Imagine screaming through the night on the Wild Eagle, the area's only winged coaster, or barreling along the tracks of Mystery Mine, enveloped in darkness. If you love coasters in the daylight, just wait until you experience one in the dark.

Dolly's Nights of Many Colors offers a unique opportunity to enjoy this popular vacation spot from a new perspective. Whether this is your first trip to Dollywood or you've visited many times before, this special event is sure to become a family favorite.

Plenty to See and Do Before Dark

Of course, Dollywood offers daytime fun as well, from Splash Country's wet and wild rides to an old-fashioned county fair, where the littlest members of your family will find pint-sized rides just for them. Showstreet gives music and comedy fans plenty of opportunities for entertainment, and throughout the park, a fabulous collection of roller coasters awaits the bravest members of your family.

In addition, the scenery in and around Dollywood is stunning. Set in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains, the park is surrounded by the beauty of nature, and everywhere you turn, you'll catch a glimpse of the wilderness.

Fireworks aren't just for Independence Day anymore. Enjoy nightly shows all summer long at Dollywood, Pigeon Forge's favorite amusement park. You'll feel like a kid again as you experience the wonder of this incredible fireworks extravaganza, and your own kids will take home a precious memory to last a lifetime.
