When they were little, the kids were too focused on having fun to appreciate being with their parents. When they were teens, they were too cool to be with their parents. Now that they're young adults, they're old enough to appreciate getting away for a few days in the mountains with the parental units. At least they're acting like they appreciate it. They actually have been joining the two of you out on the deck for some good conversation and some rocking chair and hot tub time. Then again, as you've observed, they're not so old that they won't wander off by themselves to shoot some pool or play Hearts at the card table in the game room. That's okay; kabobs out on the charcoal grill and a family trip into Sevierville for shopping and a show will bring everyone back together again.
