Those kids. They think life will grind to an absolute halt unless they're on the phone or playing video games or glued to a computer screen like a zombie. To be honest, you weren't really sure how they'd react to staying in a mountain cabin for a week. But you thought it was important for them to get a taste of what it was like to enjoy life's simple pleasures, like sitting on a deck and appreciating the vastness and beauty of the Smokies; like sharing family meals around the dinner table; like discovering that when everyone's in a hot tub, you can all come up with some pretty funny conversation; like simply kicking back in a gorgeous mountain cabin and soaking up its quaint ambiance. The kids have discovered some of the old-fashioned joys of simple board games, and even the pool and foosball tables are an improvement on those video games. Oh, you happened not to mention that there's a Super Nintendo system in the cabin as well, but it's probably best to save that little secret for an emergency. You can also combine nature, fun and education by taking them into
Sevierville for a visit to Rainforest Adventures Discovery Zoo.
